Gentle care for a tired lower back
Movements that soothe rather than strain the back.

A tired back usually wants movement, not stillness — but the right kind: small, slow, and well within range. Gentle motion brings blood and ease to tissues that stiffness has locked up.

Think cat-cow on hands and knees, knees-to-chest on the floor, and easy reclined twists. Nothing extreme, nothing held to the point of gripping. The back responds to kindness far better than to effort.
If pain is sharp, persistent, or travels down a leg, that is a conversation for a professional, not a stretch.
A few reminders
- Move within a comfortable range only.
- Breathe out as you deepen a shape.
- Warmth before movement helps a stiff back.
Questions
Should I rest a sore back completely?
Usually gentle movement helps more than total rest — but respect sharp pain.
When should I see a professional?
If pain is severe, lasts beyond a couple of weeks, or radiates down a leg.
